Dr. Yuriy Pya is an established and highly skilled cardiac surgeon with over 30 years of experience. He is a graduate of Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University.
Dr. Pya’s interests include heart failure, MCS, heart and lung transplantation. Since 2011, for the first time in Kazakhstan, Dr. Pya initiated the implantation of ventricular assist devices. A year later, Dr. Pya performed heart transplantation surgery first-ever in Central Asia, which was a beginning of heart transplantation program at the country. Under his direction, the heart center participated in the HeartMate III CE Mark and Carmat total artificial heart clinical studies. In 2016 Dr. Pya performed the first lung transplantation in Kazakhstan.
Dr. Yuriy Pya is a winner of numerous National awards, including “The researcher of the year” 2018 by Scopus Kazakhstan.
